Florida Athlete Performs at Miss America Pageant

Special Olympics Florida athlete and musical prodigy Ethan Olaes recently took the stage to perform at the Miss America pageant in West Palm Beach’s Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts and Convention Center, showcasing his extraordinary talent.

An internationally recognized Kawai artist, Ethan has mastered over a dozen instruments and built a repertoire of more than 10,000 songs. This year’s pageant marked his sixth consecutive year performing piano at the national event.

Each year, Ethan has captivated audiences with his remarkable talent. His performances serve as a powerful reminder of music's ability to bring people together. As an accomplished musician and a gold medal winning athlete in tennis, swimming, and triathlon, Ethan inspires audiences through his courage, resilience, and dedication. Through is performances and philanthropic efforts, Ethan has helped raise millions of dollars for charitable causes.

Ethan has wowed audiences at some of the most iconic venues in the country, including Carnegie Hall, the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Majestic Hall, and the Alleluia Ball.  

Ethan studied at the prestigious Oberlin College and Conservatory of Music, where his sisters, Claudia and Isabelle, started and taught The ETHAN Project (stands for ‘Everyone ‘Together ‘Help ‘Autism ‘Now), a college academic course giving students the opportunity to share their gifts and talents with individuals with disabilities. Inspired by their brother, Claudia and Isabelle also created a traveling art gallery titled ‘His Ability: Autism Seen Through His Sisters’ Eyes,’ showcased at this year’s Miss America competition.

During this year's pageant, Ethan performed at multiple events, including the Miss America 250th Tribute Red Carpet Gala, the Breakfast of Champions, the Miss America's Teen Finals and the Miss America Finals.
