Gathering in Miami for the Youth Summit

In late January, Special Olympics Florida held its Youth Summit in Miami, bringing together students from across the region. It was a terrific day filled with activities and special guests, including ESPN’s Miami Dolphins reporter Marcel Louis-Jacques.

The event featured an address from Athlete Leader Layla Crehan of Broward County and a breakout session led by members of Southwest Miami Senior High School, one of our National Banner School Award winners.

As part of the day, we partnered with Bank of America to provide attendees with a Better Money Habits course. Students learned how to budget, save, and plan for their financial futures.

This was our largest Youth Summit in Miami, with over 215 attendees – up nearly 70% from last year. A huge thanks to the participants, volunteers, and partners who helped make the event possible.
